My Las Vegas Guide

Hello lovelies!
As some of you may know, I went to Vegas Last month for 5 nights to visit my sister Rebecca who had been travelling and living in America for the summer. I had always wanted to visit Las Vegas, so with Rebecca travelling there it was the perfect opportunity to head over!! It was absolutely incredible and I have been very excited to share exactly what we got up to with you all. We fit a lot in to just 5 days and definitely made the best of our time!

Day 1 – Flight to Las Vegas/ Mc Gregor Fight

I flew with Virgin Atlantic to Las Vegas with a stopover in London Gatwick. I would definitely recommend flying with Virgin. They give so much food, the in-flight entertainment is great and I found the seats very comfortable. I think I paid about €615 for return flights.
When I arrived in Las Vegas I downloaded the app Uber straight away. As I flew on my own over to Rebecca, I clicked the option to car share to my hotel to save money! Basically the Uber driver will collect other passengers on the way to your hotel and drop you both off, it is completely safe in the day and saves some dollars so I would highly recommend for 1 or 2 people!
Out of chance the Saturday I was arriving in Las Vegas was fight night!! We ended up watching the McGregor fight in our hotel (The Westgate Hotel) – pay per view. It worked out to be about $20 each to watch in comparison to the $150 bars/clubs were charging for entry to watch the fight. After the fight we went to Encore Beach Club as this was where Conor was making an appearance. We ended up staying in the casino that night and whilst at the bar, Conor McGregor, Dee Devlin walked in with the baby – It was crazy!!!

Day 2 – Sightseeing & Omnia

We wasted no time being hungover and got up quite early on the Sunday. We were moving hotel that day to The LinQ – situated right on the main Vegas Strip – I couldn’t recommend it more! Once we had unpacked and got changed we headed to one of the restaurants in the hotel called Chayo. It was Mexican, delicious and quite reasonable.
We then began our sightseeing!! First we walked down towards the High Roller and looked in each of the shops. Then we went over to the main Las Vegas Strip and across the road to Caesers Palace. You need to visit Caesers Palace for the shopping centre. It was amazing and huge. In certain parts the ceiling looks like a sky, it is so beautiful. You will literally spend about 1 or 2 hours walking around the shopping without realizing as there is just so much to see.
Whilst walking through Caesers Palace we got stopped by a rep who said he could get us on guest-list for the nightclub OMNIA in Ceasers Palace. Try to get in touch with a rep over there and they will send you guest-list options which is so handy especially if you are with a man as men tend to always have to pay in, whereas women are nearly guaranteed to get in for free. I would highly recommend OMNIA for anyone going to Las Vegas. It is a rooftop bar/club on the main strip with an amazing view and great cocktails.

Day 3 – Pool party & Stratosphere

We went to the Wet Republic pool party on the Monday. I got guest-list through the website (https://nocovernightclubs.com). It got us free in before 12pm which was perfect! Unfortunately, whilst we were in Las Vegas there was no major DJ playing but it was still amazing. There is nothing like being by a pool with loud music, cocktails and the sun. Absolute bliss!

That night we headed to the High Roller to watch the sunset. I 100% recommend this to anyone who is going to Las Vegas. If you go before 7pm, you can pay $45 for a free bar for the 30 minutes you are rotating. It was definitely worth it. There was a bar lady there who could mix up whatever cocktail or drink you desired.

Day 4 -Grand Canyon/ The Sugar Factory

Another must do is the Grand Canyon! We payed $75 for an all day bus tour to the South Rim with company Sweet Tours (http://sweetours.com/). They were brilliant. They provided us with breakfast and lunch on the bus tour and had several stops along the way. In total we were on the road for about 12 hours maybe? It wasn’t too bad though we stopped at the hoover dam for about 15 minutes, then we stopped at route 66 for pictures and a gas station on both the way there and back for refreshments. In total we had about 3 hours to spend at the Grand Canyon, which is actually not a lot of time! There are shuttle busses there to bring you to different view points. I cannot describe the view at the grand canyon, it was unbelievable – so vast and picturesque.
When we got back to our hotel, we got dressed and headed out for food. We booked The Sugar Factory as my sister was dying to go! The interior was amazing and the cocktails were fab, but I have to say I was disappointed with the food. If you want an Instagram photo though with a great cocktail then it is the place to go! We decided to walk home and enjoy the sights along the way.

Day 5 – Our Last Day/Night
For our last day we knew we needed to fit in as much as possible. We started the day at a restaurant in our hotel called Hash House a Go Go – Amazing. The food portions are absolutely massive and are ridiculously tasty! I would 100% recommend going here for a good feed.
We then made our way to the “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign. It is a good bit out, well it was from where we were on the strip so we got an Uber! It is the strangest thing as the sign is in the middle of a main road and across the way from a small airport. Definitely bring water with you when you go to it, as there will be a big queue of people waiting to get pictures in the dessert heat!
After we got our pictures, we went to a nearby shopping mall to pick up a few bits in the Disney Store and Victoria Secret. We then headed back to our hotel and got changed into our bikinis to head to the pool. Although we were staying in the LinQ hotel, we were able to use the amenities of the Flamingo hotel – so we went to their pool where a live DJ was playing. It was amazing! I think I may have enjoyed it more than the Wet Republic Pool Party – probably because of the DJ!
For our last night we wanted to do something amazing, and had researched the Stratosphere (click here) before getting to Las Vegas. We went for happy hour which meant we got 2 for 1 cocktails and half price appetizers before 7pm. We made sure to get there in time to order these before 7pm and it saved us a fortune!! The food was incredible aswell as the cocktails. The Stratosphere also has a restaurant which rotates 360 degrees while you eat (at a slow pace of course, you barely feel it!!) but it was quite pricey so we didn’t eat there.
After dinner we went back to the hotel for a few drinks before heading to the Bellagio fountains. They are so beautiful and from around 7/8pm they have a show every 15 minutes! After watching the show we then made our way to Light Nightclub – again we got free in on guest-list, and three free drink vouchers each (females only). As we had a flight the next day, we didn’t go too crazy but it was such a great way to end the holiday!

I would definitely recommend Las Vegas as a holiday for friends or couples. A few things I would say though is that it is very expensive so be prepared!!

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you have any questions!
